Heraeus Quartz North America has an immediate opening for a skilled Butting Lathe Operator to join our Cylinder Prep team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility for this position is to weld cylinders/ingots for processing within oven towers and to weld handles to finished preforms prior to shipment to our customer locations. 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Produce collar-cylinder, j-cylider, handle-preform, and collar/J extension welds using oxygen-propane torch on automated lathe. 
• Operate wastewater treatment system. 
• Record data/transactions in QDC/SAP system. 
• Support the manufacturing operations for the organization, including 5S program. 
• Cover other Cylinder Prep positions as needed. 

What is Required for this Role:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. 
• 1 year relevant ]experience required. 
• Minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing enviornment a plus. 
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability. 
• Self-directed and motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
