Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for An Optical Measurement Technician to join our Production team at our Buford, GA. location. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform optical measurements on products to ensure customer quality and compliance standards are met.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and catalogue samples provided by production to be used for measurement characterization.
  • Prepare samples for the specified measurements / set-ups
  • Operate test equipment to measure requested characteristics
  • Apply pass / fail criteria after performing measurements to determine if product can be released for delivery to customers.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that noncompliant material is removed from the production orders
  • Complete necessary paperwork & software applications to release product / orders
  • Input data to SAP to enable data search related to test parts
  • Archive test samples for possible future availability
  • Perform basic measurements using calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.
  • Generate Excel data files for transmission to customers
  • Preform preventative maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned, including TPA Cut/Clean support.

 

What is required for this role:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or 1-year relevant experience required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
