Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct tests to determine the quality of raw materials and finished products in accordance with the criteria as defined in the specifications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including entry into database
  • Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release
  • Investigate or report questionable test results
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform data entry to produce certificate of compliance
  • Test R&D and engineering formulations
  • Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of working area, laboratory instruments and equipment     
  • Handles confidential information with care
  • Adherence to Code of Conduct as applicable to job function:  CoC Guideline No. 1:  Guideline for the Procurement of Products and Services, No. 2:  Guideline for the Prevention of Bribery in Commercial Transactions, No. 3:  Guideline for the Acceptance of Precious Metals and No. 4:  Guideline for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Participation in Criminal Acts.

 

Education and Experience

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field and a minimum of 2-4 years of laboratory experience are required.  The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be experienced in analytical testing using a variety of equipment. Self-starter with an attention to detail required.  Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to work in a team environment; exhibit a high level of persistence, motivation and initiative.
