As Enterprise Architect – Strategic Domains (m/f/d), you will help shape the future Enterprise Architecture practice within the Heraeus Group, with a particular focus on strategically important business and IT domains.


You will work at the interface of business strategy, IT roadmap and transformation portfolio, creating transparency, direction and architectural guidance for complex cross-domain topics.


Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Shaping and evolving enterprise architecture practices across strategically relevant domains, ensuring alignment with business priorities, IT strategy and long-term transformation goals.
  • Developing capability- and location-spanning reference architectures and strategic target architectures that provide clear orientation for future business and IT decisions.
  • Supporting portfolio and investment decisions with architectural impact assessments, transparency and pragmatic recommendations.
  • Coaching business and IT stakeholders in top-down architecture planning and helping translate strategic objectives into clear architectural priorities and roadmaps.
  • Contributing to the further development of architecture governance, principles, standards and guardrails to enable consistent and value-driven architecture decisions across central and local domains.
  • Moderating architecture discussions and helping stakeholders find viable solutions that balance business needs, technological options and economic considerations.
  • Building strong partnerships with business functions, IT teams, domain experts and architects across the organization.
  • Advising business and IT teams on architectural best practices while ensuring alignment with defined Enterprise Architecture standards and guidelines.

Your profile:

 

  • Several years of experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture, domain architecture, IT strategy or a comparable role in a complex, preferably international organization.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture methods, target architecture development, architecture governance, principles and standards.
  • Ability to translate business strategies and domain-specific requirements into clear, pragmatic architectural guidance without getting lost in unnecessary technical detail.
  • Good understanding of current technological trends, innovations and state-of-the-art solutions, as well as their relevance for business transformation.
  • Experience in facilitating architecture decisions and aligning different stakeholder perspectives across business, IT and architecture.
  • A hands-on architecture driven mindset and the motivation to actively support architecture concepts from early idea to practical implementation together with business and IT teams.
  • Strong communication, moderation and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural topics clearly and convincingly to different audiences.
  • Fluent German and English skills.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF or equivalent qualifications are an advantage.
  • You enjoy working independently, taking ownership and contributing as a motivated team player who wants to make a visible difference.
