Your role and responsibilities:
- As Quality Engineer, you’ll support platinum laboratory operations and furnace‑room thermal processing. In this role, you’ll strengthen process capability, material traceability, and analytical excellence for high‑value precious‑metal operations, and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process controls, inspection strategies, and acceptance criteria for melting, heat treatment, alloying, and precious‑metal recovery operations.
- Apply SPC and capability analysis to monitor trends, assess stability, and drive improvements.
- Lead PFMEA, Control Plans, and quality risk assessments to ensure sustained mitigation.
- Provide analytical oversight for platinum lab operations, including method development, validation, and measurement‑uncertainty evaluation.
- Partner with Engineering to qualify, validate, and optimize furnace processes; lead investigations into furnace excursions or metallurgical anomalies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data‑driven methodologies to reduce variation, scrap, and precious‑metal losses.
- Lead or support CAPA activities, root‑cause investigations, and audit readiness efforts for lab and furnace operations.
What is require for this role:
- Associate degree (minimum) in a relevant technical field.
- Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Prior laboratory or laboratory‑operations experience (highly desired).
- Working knowledge of SPC, CAPA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and root‑cause analysis.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Proficiency with Lean and Six Sigma practices.
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer credential (preferred).
