The following challenges await you: 
 

  • You will join the newly established Corporate Development function as a key sparring partner, shaping the long-term strategic direction of Heraeus Convantics through 2035. From day one, you will engage with both CEOs and the Leadership Team on the questions that matter most: where to grow, where to focus, which new business fields to build, and how to position the company in a changing market environment.
  • In this role, you will take topics end-to-end – from structuring and analyzing complex problems & trends to translating findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior leadership. Selected strategic initiatives will be delegated to you with full execution responsibility, so you can see your work translate into real outcomes.
  • You will work across all five Business Lines, collaborate closely with leaders from across the organization, and engage with external partners as needed. Topics will range from new business field development and footprint decisions to portfolio choices and strategic M&A evaluations – with a future-back perspective focused on long-term value creation.
  • Beyond your day-to-day work on strategic topics, you will help shape how the function operates from the ground up – defining methodologies and establishing Corporate Development as a high-impact contributor to the company’s long-term direction. For ambitious people with clear leadership ambitions, this is a role designed to build broad strategic depth and open the path to future leadership responsibility.

 

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in business, economics, management, engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience, ideally with a foundation in strategy consulting, complemented by industry experience and/or corporate development exposure
  • Proven track record on complex strategic projects with senior-management visibility – ideally including portfolio strategy, new business development, or transformation work
  • High ownership mindset – comfortable taking topics from initial structuring all the way to actionable recommendations, with strong personal accountability
  • Driven by curiosity – a genuine interest for Semiconductors, Datacom, Photonics, Materials, AI and emerging future trends, paired with the ability to quickly build expertise in unfamiliar topics and industries
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills – ability to structure ambiguity and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Confident communicator – able to produce high-quality strategic content and engage credibly with senior stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Leadership ambition – this role offers a clear development path for those who want to grow into a broader scope
  • Comfortable working across cultures, functions and global locations
  • Business-fluent in English, German is a strong plus
