Position Summary

The Senior Engineering Technician-Nitinol provides advanced technical and engineering support to cross-functional teams responsible for the development, characterization, commercialization, and sustainment of new technology platforms and manufacturing processes. This role is recognized as an engineering process expert, operating with minimal direction and applying broad experience, sound judgment, and creativity to solve complex technical and manufacturing challenges. The Senior Engineering Technician position will be focused on the Nitinol and Metals department, with the ability to flex to other departments as needed.

 

This is an onsite position in our White Bear Lake, MN location with flexibility to go to the Fridley, MN location as needed.

 

What You’ll Do Every Day:

  • Provide advanced, hands-on technical support for engineering and process development projects, requiring minimal engineering direction.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup, including preparation for long-term and scalable manufacturing.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving and critical thinking to define process strategies, resolve complex technical challenges, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Develop, draft, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
  • Establish and document process windows, process controls, and key operating parameters.
  • Support the transition of new products and technologies from development into production, including training and coaching manufacturing personnel.
  • Provide ongoing engineering and manufacturing support to optimize processes, tooling, and production performance through controlled and documented process changes.
  • Utilize ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering activities, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipment responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Customers, and cross-functional teams as requested.
  • Train and mentor technicians and other team members based on demonstrated expertise and experience.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality systems, process change procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
  • Experience working with Nitinol and Stainless-Steel post processing, strongly preferred (e.g. chemical processing, heat setting, micro-blasting, or electropolishing).
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or OEM manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects through commercialization.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting positive customer and stakeholder experiences.

 

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $32.00/hour and $36.50/hour based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors into account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible. Our total compensation package includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
